This is one of the coolest things I have seen on the internet in a while:
World Science Festival 2009: Bobby McFerrin Demonstrates the Power of the Pentatonic Scale from World Science Festival on Vimeo.
This being the last Whiskerino, our fine curator Mr. Eades performed a little background magic that made everyone King Beard for a day. I’ve been Whiskerino-ing for a while and I’ve never gotten a KB. There are some crazy-talented and motivated guys that take photos for this thing and I completely understand that I just don’t have the chops to win the KB. I’m cool with it. But I have to say that my morning got goosed into full-blown Awesome for just a moment when I saw my big mug in the King’s Frame.

Thanks for making my morning, Mike. That was a nice surprise.
These are great! I love that The Pigskin Doctors use Tecmo Bowl to rate current players. The categories are spot-on and are definitely worth a click-through.

From left-to-right those are Ronnie Brown, Adrian Peterson, Chris Johnson, and Sebastian Janikowski.

Them Crooked Vultures is the Josh Homme, John Paul Jones, Dave Grohl super group. I have to say, they’ve done a great job of stopping leaks of this album so it’s cool that they’re streaming the whole thing a week before it comes out.
As an aside, I’ve had terrific luck finding music to stream at YouTube. It’s a wildly underrated use of that service. You can find pretty much anything.
In this, the final running of the beards called Whiskerino, I am shooting for perfect attendance. Here is my Day 3 photo:
If you’re at all interested, you can follow my photos here. It’s going to get gnarly.
I really really like Dalek’s most recent work (that’s a clean, simple portfolio site, too). It’s geometric and abstract and the colors just click, for me.
This video is of an installation he put up at Hurley’s headquarters.

It’s listed on LinkedIn. I bet it’s a ton of work but I bet it’s also a big bag of fun.
Love it.
“Tea Spilling”

Scott Campbell does so much in such a small space. Love it.
The show features Scott Campbell, Krista Huot, Roland Tamayo, and Ghost Patrol. Go here to see art from the show along with purchase information. Scroll down for the S Campbell stuff. It’s great.
“Cloudy Surprise”

See?
You really have to see it to get it.
It’s like soundboard by The Field, only it’s all user submitted.
[thanks for the heads up, wondermade]
