‘Watch You Bleed’ - the Saga of Guns ‘n’ Roses

Watch You Bleed

My lovely Mrs. will be pleased.

I wonder how it will hold up against other classic in the genre: The Dirt, Please Kill Me, and Live From New York

Aaron Horkey - “Detritus”

He has got to be insane.

Detritus by Aaron Horkey

Aaron Horkey describes the print:

“Embellished with 5 colors - acrylics, gouache and colored pencil. Each individual piece includes it’s unique print number hand rendered in paint, cradled inside the Detritus emblem at the bottom of the print. Surrounding flourishes on each number have been added using metallic gold colored pencil, also unique to each print. 12 egg cases within the illustration have also been rendered and the print number for each print has been painted into the key face, upper right corner of the image.”

Image and info grabbed from OMGposters.com where all of the good Horkey news breaks. Go there to see some excellent detail images. I’m blown away.

New Ink Ape print!

I’m a fan of Alex T.’s work. I especially approve of his use of the Rhinoceros. I will overlook the poor spelling.

Tuff Luv

“Tuff Luv” is a screenprint limited to an edition of 50 and available for purchase here.

Phineas X. Jones makes nice-looking prints.

OMG Posters tipped me to this gem of a print, The Octophant:

The Octophant

Which in turn led me to P.X.Jones’ etsy store and this one:

Good prices and, like my buddy Chris said, “screwball printed ‘em, so you you know they are pro”.

New Ink Ape prints!

I’ve been a fan of Alec T.’s for a while. I especially enjoy his Fauxguerreotypes. Yesterday he announced a couple of new prints based on his work from Dead in Desemboque.

Needless to say, I am partial to the beard-themed print:

At just $10, and with only 10 for sale of the run of 25, you should jump right on it if you dig it.

new Paul Pope screenprint

Some screen-printed goodness, based on his Diesel ad work. At $400 it’s a big ticket but damn, that guy can draw.

You can buy one here.

Jack Long - “They Returned Every Year”

I’m not sure what it is about Jack Long’s work, but I really like it. I have this Tiny Showcase he did, and I am sorely tempted to find a way to fit his newest, “They Returned Every Year” into the art budget. Oh man, look at the paintings! I’m going to need to be the Best Boy Ever for Santa to wing one of those my way.

I think it’s the Jim Woodring-esque colors and line weight but without the genuinely creepy inhabitants of the Woodring settings.

Sepaking Speaking of cool-looking posters…

Tom Standard put this clever spin on your Simon and Garfunkel. Damn. I could really go for a cuppa joe.

This poster is part of the Beans and Screens series and show at Mugshots Coffee in Phila. to raise money for the (Guatemalan? Peruvian!) farmers who produce some of the Fair Trade beans sold through the Independents Coffee Cooperative.

**update 4/7** I got my poster. It’s as cool in person as it is online. Sometimes the jpeg looks really good but doesn’t translate well to ink. This is not one of those times. Nice work, Tom.

New-ish and recent Jay Ryan goodness.

Cyclocross Low

I am a big fan of just about anything Jay Ryan has ever drawn. Dude just does it well. That Metropolis Coffee Company poster is one of his new ones for 2008, the others are from 2007 and all appear to be for sale at The Bird Machine.
