I’m a fan of Jeff Lamm’s Greasebat toys and prints. They hit the right note of funny for this kind of Big Japanese Monster. I need to get in on them.

And on the custom front, these skeletons designed by Scott Wilkowski are impressive as hell. The bone sculpts are pretty damn slick, and the smoky clear resin adds a lot to the creepy factor.

Jawbone Jambox

I’m not a bluetooth headset guy but I like that Jawbone at least puts some effort into the aesthetics of the device. I was ready to dismiss the Jambox, their foray into wireless speaker tech, as an over-designed brick but the little commercial they put together does a nice job of laying out some cool uses of the device. It’s a solid combo of utility and style but at $200 it’s a little pricey and I would want to see in person before I bought it.

I’m way, way into this shirt. I own one and I have given two as gifts, so far. The pixelation of the Nike logo is so perfectly “NWA Video from ’92″, I just can’t help but want to wear it every day. Burlesque of North America killed it with this one.

Bertie got a ship date!

Here is the ridiculously awesome-looking, Ashley Wood-designed, World War Robot MK2 Bertie that I ordered back in December from 3A. I mention it today because I just got notice of a delivery date. In June. While I don’t doubt these are the greatest vinyl toys in the history of vinyl toys, a 6 month wait from order to potential ship date is a bit much.

And of course I’ve got orders in for a couple more. They really are insane-looking. I have a hunch they will live up to the hype, too.

I haven’t worked on one in a while, but I still love the idea of a DIY vinyl toy. They’re terrific rainy-day projects with the kids. I’m going to have to try these new models out.

Especially the giraffe.
