Don’t worry. I am here for you.

I know, first-hand, that the quality and articulation of 3A toys is top-shelf and I have no doubt that Mongrol will be up to snuff. At $250 shipped, however, this is way out of my price range. It’s still cool to look at. This goes on sale Monday at bambalandstore.com.

The last 6 months or so have seen some outstanding posters from The Alamo Drafthouse. Their latest, by Tom Whalen, continues the streak. It goes on sale tomorrow at Mondo, the Alamo Drafthouse online storefront. [ viaAICN ]

Flinchy

14, Feb 2011

Oh, bot. Jay Ryan and some other good folks have started a t-shirt company, flinchy.com. This is video they made to promote it. Flinchy from Jason Harvey on Vimeo. Jay Ryan is a funny guy. I am a fan.

There is a new exhibit at the Children’s Museum of Richmond showing original illustrations from Little Golden Books. As a bit of an illustrator nerd this is something I am going to make time for. I love it. There are going to be Richard Scarry originals there. I am geeked on that. [via RVA News]

The City of Ember

9, Feb 2011

The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau My rating: 3 of 5 stars My 10-year-old finished this last week so I read it on her recommendation. It was good. Probably very good for young adult fiction because it didn’t get too explicitly preachy.Thumbs up. View all my reviews

Ron Swanson is one of my favorite tv characters.

Goatee Groundhog Day

2, Feb 2011

It’s a one-day, hourly expression of the wonder(?) that is the goatee. I’m here. It’s as bad an idea as it sounds but I can’t help myself when it comes to this kind of thing.
