Vanishing Point

Vanishing Point boils down to a car chase across the American West. It’s weird in that 70’s cinema way but I thought it was cool. The Charger Kowalski drives is a bad, bad machine. I’d like to watch this again.

Scott Campbell from the Quiet Storm show at Gallery 1988

Love it.

“Tea Spilling”

Scott Campbell does so much in such a small space. Love it.

The show features Scott Campbell, Krista Huot, Roland Tamayo, and Ghost Patrol. Go here to see art from the show along with purchase information. Scroll down for the S Campbell stuff. It’s great.

“Cloudy Surprise”

See?

Sgt. Robot by Kidrobot

Sgt. Robot isn’t for sale until June 4th. I do enjoy a vinyl toy and Kidrobot really does good work. I have found, however, that wanting a vinyl toy is generally much more fun than actually having one. Of course, there is the occasional exception.

Primer

Primer” got pretty far out there with the time bending and paradox dodging (embracing?). Between ‘Lost‘ and then ‘Star Trek‘ I should be time-traveled out. I liked Primer, but I need to read up on it because I think I might have missed something.

Young and Handsome: A Night With Jeff Garlin

Caught “Young and Handsome: A Night With Jeff Garlin” last night. I like Jeff Garlin but this just wasn’t that funny.

You Don’t Mess With The Zohan

You Don’t Mess With The Zohan” really wasn’t as bad as it looked like it would be. Michelle and I fired it up on the Roku the other night and had some decent laughs. The comedy really plays in a Naked-Gun-esque vein so I found that I would laugh where I might have just turned it off otherwise.

Don’t be fooled, the “nudity” they warn you about isn’t Emmanuelle Chriqui, sadly. It’s all naked Sandler ass.

Nice 6 #15

Memorial Day weekend. Some sunshine, grilled meats, a couple of cold ones, and, here in RVA anyway, a taste of summertime weather. Hot and humid is the order of the day but the pool is too cold to get into. The transition from Spring to Summer can be tough. I am here to help with 22 minutes of quality tunes. Especially that Major Lazer song. Great googly that is a hot one.

Here is where to get Nice 6 #15

1) Major Lazer – Hold The Line (DJ Edit)
2) Kingsbury Manx – Well, Whatever
3) Surf City – Dickshakers Union
4) Obits – Two-Headed Coin
5) Books feat. Jose Gonzalez – Cello Song
6) The Mighty Underdogs – Gun Fight (feat. MF Doom)

This is really sharp.

You really have to see it to get it.

It’s like soundboard by The Field, only it’s all user submitted.

[thanks for the heads up, wondermade]
