Cycle North Carolina Spring Ride 2009!

I bought my road bike back in the Summer of ’07 and while I did some decent riding then and a good bit more in ’08, I’ve decided that 2009 is going to be a Big Bike Year for me. I started riding my mountain bike to work once or twice a week around Thanksgiving. After the first of the year I ramped it up to as many days a weeks as weather and laundry would allow (I am pretty good, but I still can’t take 2 weeks worth of laundered/pressed shirts home on my bike. Yet).

An integral part of my Big Bike Plan for 2009 is going on organized event rides. My buddy Kevin passed along the registration info for this North Carolina ride, saying that he had been on their Fall rides the last couple of years and that event is well-planned and the people are cool. I’m signed up and I am stoked.

I’m still a serious bike n00b so one thing that I like about CNC Spring Ride is that there is only one campsite and each day’s ride route starts and ends there. I will be dodging the extra logistics of moving a tent every day. I am really excited about riding bikes and I hope this wintertime enthusiasm will carry me through to the proper riding weather of Spring and Summer.
