I go back and forth on the merits of graffiti and other street art. There is a new (to me) movement of these stencil guys doing work on wood and paper, and then selling them as prints. It knocks the ‘vandal’ tag off of the work, which is a positive, but that sort of illegal element was always part of the draw for me. I guess an upshot is that you get to enjoy the art in your own home. But then wasn’t the point of bombing a wall or pasting a billboard to get your art or message in the face of the public?
Like I said, I go back and forth on it.
