I LOVE SUNSHINE

Seriously, early Spring is my favorite time of year. I even like the bugs. Today is all about getting the garden built (and I guess posting about it, too).

Loaded.

Ah, irony

I’ve decided to try and read David Allen’s Getting Things Done again. Only, I can’t find it.

Ooh! A Crimson Skies sequel?

Too bad it’s just a rumor.

I *loved* that game on the original Xbox and it’s one of the few games I’ve played all the way to the end. I should drop it into the 360 for some barmstorming shenanigans since it’s on the backward compatibility list (which NFL2k5 *still* isn’t on and will likely never be).

Todd Goldman, thief?

This story has been making the internet rounds for a couple of weeks but I found a nice, clean recap of everything to-date.

Here’s the link.

The gist is that Todd Goldman, an artist who designs and sells a lot of t-shirts and paintings, gets a lot of his designs by stealing outright from other illustrations and by using clip art contrary to permitted uses.

Here’s the example that got this whole brouhaha started:

The image on the left is is Dave Kelly’s (Shmorky’s) Purple Pussy comic from September 19, 2001. The one on the right is a Tood Goldman “original” painting.

Yeah, it’s not subtle.

There are a ton more examples to be found at that first link.

Virb

I don’t think I mentioned this here, but I have a Virb page. It’s a new-ish social networking site, kinda like MySpace only way cooler. I snuck in for the beta a while back but never did much more than set up an account and monkey a bit with some of the interface. It’s really clean-looking and crazy-customizable. If you’re into that kind of thing I’d certainly recommend it to you. If you need an invite, hit me up.

The reason I bring it up today is that they have introduced a clever Blog Import feature that cross-publishes to your Virb blog from your external blog via RSS. That’s cool for me because I *never* post anything over there, but I web-know some people that do. With the blog impoprt they can see what I am up to from inside the Virb interface without me having to re-post entries.

The only downside (that I can see) is that it’s not pulling the image urls properly from the RSS feed. The posts on the Virb blog don’t have any images. I think I know what’s causing it. I abbreviate the img instructions when I post images I host. When those abbreviated tags show up on Virb the folders referenced don’t exist. Hmmm.

This is me at Virb.

[thanks for the heads up, Joshua]
