I had really made my peace with my Thiesmann-hate. Yes, he was an arrogant, know-it-all doosh most of the time he was talking but if you could look past that you could see that he knew a lot about football. And I don’t mind telling you that I sometimes learned something from him. But those pearls of knowledge were so dramatically outweighed by the hours and hours and hours of him blathering on about whatever his prepared talking points were, regardless of what might be happening on the game, that I am glad to see him gone.
He will be replaced by Ron Jaworski who is also a little excitable but damn if he doesn’t go out of his way to teach football. I *always* learn something when Jaws is talking.
I’m still not excited about games running until midnight, but the announcing team just got a huge upgrade.

I agree. Still am unlikely to watch. ABC, your 9:18pm kickoff time is a deal-killer.

“doosh”?

Yes, doosh.
I like to give the people some phonetic spellings. It helps with the humour, such at it is.

You know what makes being stuck in Charlotte airport all day much better? Reading this! Hooray, the doosh is dead! Agreed on Jaws, he is waaay better on the radio when he is more off-the-cuff, then you really get a good grip on how deep his football knowledge is.
