Baggie Omelets?!?!
Max has posted a flickr set recipe of these omelets you make in a baggie.
And it looks like it works! I might give this a try next weekend.
Still no internet at home.
I have albums to blog and a fresh Nice 6 for you guys but I can’t get that stuff online from work. Hopefully my troubles will be sorted for the long weekend and I can get some catching up done.
With much power, comes much responsibility
Paul is a Whiskerino pal who is absolutely killing it in the photo department.
You owe it to yourself to take time to look at the rest of his flickr offerings.
MSNBC’s X-Men test.
Here’s your chance to test your mutant trivia knowledge in conjunction with the release of X-Men: The Last Stand.
I missed the two that didn’t have to do with comics. Tell me how you did.
It’s done.
I just ordered DSL through Verizon.
I was a happy AT&T cable customer for a while right after we moved to our new house but then they were bought by Comcast. I was left with no other cable internet option here in Richmond and DSL was not an option at my address.
I’ve been a reluctant Comcast customer for the last couple of years but a recent rash of occasional internet outages over the last couple of months (including the most recent one: out Wednesday morning and no available tech until Saturday) has finally(!) been the splash of cold water I needed to wake me up and get me back to DSL.
‘Lost’ finale last night.
MSNBC has a decent recap. I don’t like to beef too much on show I like but I think the MSNBC article hits the highs and lows pretty well.
There will be plenty to speculate about over the Summer. Should be fun.
Tiny Letterpress
The folks at Tiny Showcase have added a sweet new wing to their small-scale art palace.
Tiny Letterpress will feature original, hand-printed art in small signed and numbered batches. Here’s a detail from the first print, “The Ape and the Buffalo’s Ghost”.

I love, love, love screenprinted art and I know that Tiny Showcase is going to keep the quality at a high level. Good on those guys for turning a dog with a job into a Tiny art empire.
Happy beginning.
You know what’s cool? Deciding to grab a blueberry muffin from the cafeteria for breakfast and getting there just as a fresh batch arrives from the kitchen.
Warm Muffin = Happy Mike
You cannot argue with that kind of math.
The Hirshhorn, Washington DC
Michelle and I spent a short weekend in Georgetown last month for our wedding anniversary. We went without the kids so we were sure to go to the Hirshhorn Gallery which is the exact opposite of a kid friendly environment. It’s a huge place but we really picked great spots to hang out and look.
I was impressed and surprised by the Hiroshi Sugimoto exhibit. There are these examples to view in this online gallery. I really enjoyed the “whole movie in one frame” series. A really smart and simple idea. And I have a soft spot for large-format photographs. The sheer size of the prints on display was amazing.

One thing I love about seeing great art in person is the chance to see the slight imperfections in the images. Look at the cracks in this detail of a Mondrian. Any time I have ever seen this painting in a magazine or book it’s been fields of solid color with solid black lines creating crisply defined space. In person you get a much better feeling that this was created by a person, as opposed to some abstract “artist”. I’m not explaining that well. Sorry.
