‘Blazing Arrow’ was one of my favorite albums of 2002 and it really put Blackalicious on the map for me. I know a lot of people loved their first album, ‘Nia’ but it never grabbed me. Still doesn’t, and I’ve tried.
To me, ‘The Craft’ is sweet continuation of the vibe they were throwing down on ‘Blazing Arrow’. I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up with the West Coast, but they’re making some of the best hip hop ever. Fer rillz.
“My Pen And Pad”is a great example of Gift of Gab’s ill flow. I mean, the dude just doesn’t stop. It was tough to pick just one song from this excellent album so I went with a short one. Enjoy.

Opposites……. like a couple of Flynns living on the opposing ends of the same street. I *hearted* Nia, thought Blazing Arrow was okay,a little radio friendly. But I cannot get into this at all. And I was excited too. Got it the day it came out etc.. but while the flow and delivery of the lyrics is/are excellent (Gift of Gab is soo smooth) the lyrics themselves are weak and the musiq is a little to frolicky for me. Disappointing like his solo album sized let down.
Now the DangerDoom beats, they is a different story. But you won’t be talking about that for another six weeks, right Mr. Backlog?

DangerDoom should get on here quicker than that.
And you’re right, it’s awesome.

But they do those two things so well I can’t believe they didn’t stop there.
