“Otter Joins the Seminary” by Carson Ellis
A subtle policy change with this week’s print from the folks over at Tiny Showcase. In the past, some artists haven chosen to donate proceeds to a charity. These prints have tended to sell out quicker than most. Now, all of the prints will have a charitable contribution component in their purchase price.
“Beginning with Carson’s print and going forward, each and every print sold will carry along with it a donation to a charity chosen by the artist. Five dollars from each copy of this print will go to The Rock and Roll Camp for Girls. This raises the print price slightly, but now the artist, as well as their favorite charity, benefit from each piece sold.”
This is a good idea. Seriously excellent art at a perfectly affordable price and now with the karma of a good deed thrown in. If you don’t at least try it now, well, I don’t know what to say.

One possible alternative: Could have made the run 100 and kept the same low price point. That would have raised the same cash for charity, not really made the prints that much less exclusive and would have kept the low price point. Buying all of these in a month would be close to $90; that is a little too pricey for me each month.
