According to this article over at Time the new 4G iPods have some as-yet-unannounced features.
” But you should know that internally the new iPod is a ground-up reconstruction, and its really compelling applications - the ones that very well might get the goat of anyone unable or unwilling to upgrade - are still secret. All that Apple is saying is that there’s more to this than what’s being publicized.
If you’re thinking about finally getting an iPod, now’s your chance. If you’re thinking about handing down your current iPod and getting a new one with a bigger hard drive, now’s your chance. But don’t feel pressured into upgrading, because no major bragging rights will go to the possessors of these latest iPods. That is, not yet. “
That second paragraph sounds a little like sponsored hype but I am certainly intrigued.

rumors….
main new feature is not wireless, but a wired transfer of tracks/albums/artists between pods.
apple to release accessory to facilitate this within 2 months.
also, custom menus to be utilised by software upgrades via usb/firewire. inc 3rd party ipod custom software (travel guides, games etc.)
you will be able to sync iPhoto and iMovie with the 4G iPod and Apple will release a cable to go from the dock connector to video/audio outs to hook up to a TV/display. There were rumors of this being included on the 4G before release…
Home on the iPod would be nice to, but I don’t see why, from a purely hardware perspective, this would be 4G-only. Apple’s whims are another issue.
just rumors though

Where are you getting all of this? Macrumors? That site is so damn slow it’s making me nuts.

yeah… macrumors. Don’t know why its being so slow, no problems here. Lori bought airport Express today. Pretty dope. Plugged it in and had a wireless network under a minute. Love the apple. If we get to the Radio Hack tonight we hope to start streaming music from her powerbook to the stereo! so cool.
