I have, to put it mildly, an NFL problem. From late April’s draft to January’s Super Bowl I am focused on professional football. I get waaaayyy into what’s going on in the NFL. I have a (terrible) fantasy football team in the PRF, I write a weekly game summary for FootballGuys, and I find myself spending slow work afternoons trolling for every little scrap of football news I can find. Now, I’m not the guy who paints himself in the home team’s colors and cheers, shirtless, in 30-degree weather (and Michelle, I have no plans of becoming that guy). I may, however, become a (shirtless?) lump on the couch in front of the new NFL Network.
The NFL seems to have a full week of programming but these sound like the ones I’m going to be into:
NFL Playbook:Four nights a week (Tuesday - Friday) from 10:00 - 11:00 PM ET/PT on NFL Network, PLAYBOOK harnesses the exclusive access that only NFL Films receives to give fans an in-depth look at NFL football.
Tuesday night Playbook will feature an all-access pass for fans to listen in as NFL Films’ ubiquitous sound crews pick-up what is said in post-game locker rooms and press conferences around the NFL. This special Tuesday night version of Playbook is titled, Playbook: Point After.
Playbook Wednesday through Friday primarily focuses on the Xs & Os of NFL football. Playbook provides an in-depth look at the key matchups of upcoming games by analyzing pro football through the exclusive use of team-supplied footage - the same video that coaches and players use each week to prepare game plans. In addition, the “Gamebreaker” segments on each show will break down the key moments from the previous weekend’s action.
This is what I want. I love it when Ron Jaworski breaks down film on ESPN. It’s cool to see what a real football player sees when he’s watching a game.
NFL Films Presents:Every Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 - 10:00 PM ET/PT on NFL Network, NFL FILMS PRESENTS explores the depth of the NFL Films archive the worlds largest sports film library with unique perspectives on footballs greatest heroes and personalities as well as its history, humanity and humor. Interviews with NFL legends and contemporary stars, visual essays, historical features and clever deconstructions of the games current trends and nuances are the core elements of NFL Films Presents, hosted by NFL Films President Steve Sabol.
A special edition of NFL Films Presents airs every Wednesday during the NFL regular season. NFL Films Presents: Game of the Week in HD lets fans relive Sundays most interesting game in High Definition. More than just a three-minute recap, this 60-minute review uses cutting-edge technology to examine all the key personnel match-ups, outstanding performances and pivotal plays as NFL Films signature slow-motion cinematography and sideline sound give fans a unique and in-depth perspective of how the game was won and lost that cannot be seen anywhere else but on NFL Films Presents: Game of the Week in HD.
Who doesn’t love NFL Films? This sounds awesome!

Where can we see the old NFL films of Dick Butkus that used to be accessible on the web?
